MANDALAY
Mandalay, the second biggest city of the country, once the capital of the Burmese kingdom, is currently a city full of activity.
The city built following a geometric plant around the building of the Burmese Kings, is a young city.
It is the city of King Mindon that was built beginning from 1857, to commemorate the 2400th anniversary of the death of Budda according to the legend (the fact has not been ever tried) that it visited these places and it foretold that in that places a city would have been built on the occasion of the anniversary of his death.
Unfortunately, Mandalay crushed by the events of the second world war and was repeatedly bombed. The immense Building Real was razed to the ground and only the boundaries remain, the work destroying was completed by an immense fire that destroyed the wood city in 1984.
For the memory (and the tourism) a plan of reconstruction is currently in progress.
But everything around Mandalay there was other three ex capitals of Burma: Sagaing in 1315, Ava from 1365 to 1720 and Amarapura deal 1782. If the actual modern city has little charme, the outskirtses reserve numerous treasures.
