INLE LAKE
The Inle Lake is situated in a mountain landscape with a pleasantly fresh climate. On its shores live the people of the Inthas, that go fishing rowing with a leg and that cultivate the floating gardens on the lake.
The Inle Lake is extended in a valley, dug by the river Nam Pilu and surrounded by the mountains. Around the lake, long around 19 kms and breadth 8 there are 37 villages and live around 100.000 persons. The lake is relatively little depth: during the monsoon it measures in the deepest point less than six meters, and in the dry season the level lowers to few more than two meters.
