APOLLONIA

Images (Dec. 1999 - Jan. 2000)

The ancient city of Apollonia was built for giving an port to Cyrene; in fact it is placed in a very suggestive angle of the coast, with the hills to the back and the sea in front. Some parts of the city during the centuries have been submerged by the sea. The important monuments to be visited are the theater, the acropolis, the Church out the boundaries, the oriental Church, the thermal baths and the Byzantine building.

In the village of Susah, there is a small but interesting museum.
